LEARNING EXCELLENCE THROUGH TENNIS
LETT is a program of the Birmingham Area Tennis Association, Inc. that has been "improving children's lives through tennis and education" since 1998.
The LETT program involves in-school, after-school, and summer opportunities for thousands of Birmingham area youth, and develops the character of young people by emphasizing the life and ideals of Arthur Ashe.
"Our idea is to use tennis as a way to gain and hold the attention of young people in the inner cities and other poor environments so that we can teach them about matters more important than tennis...
Through tennis, lives can be changed and spirits reclaimed."
